God is Chemistry and Physics,
not Theology:
flour and eggs and spices,
vegetables and meat,
fruit, and roots and nuts,
mixing bowl and blender,
shortening and an oven,
a growing book of recipes
born of trial and error,
because the Cook
has left the kitchen
entirely to us.
