Suspicion Contract

No amount of rights
can weigh as much
as shadow of a wrong,
if a finger’s near the scale.

Though you sign in blood
your statement of intention
we also watch your other hand,
the finger in the middle.

Willing’s much the same as deed
having mass and taking space
in a mind with an agenda
at hidden odds with balance.

Masking the appearance
of equilibrium
wrongs can seem red herring
and rights, non sequiturs.
