The Poetry of

Love’s Math

Between two lovers is a constant,
undetected, of tolerated distance
regardless of their passion.
As one moves closer to the other,
the other blindly moves away.
That’s the give and take of it,
magnetic bipolarity
governed by addition
with a maximum of two
a sum of one and one
however mingled.
Regardless of the urge to meld
it will be gone at dawn.
Yes, love is mathematical.
